Greetings from the Chair of the Asia National Assembly Water Consultative Board (AAWC)
I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all distinguished parliamentarians of the Asia National Assembly Water Consultative Board and to everyone visiting our website.
The Asia National Assembly Water Consultative Board (AAWC) is a transnational parliamentary consultative body established in 2019 to respond to the pressing challenges of the climate crisis and water scarcity. Its purpose lies in fostering policy exchanges among Asian
parliamentarians and seeking common solutions to these critical issues.
In November 2024, the 1st Climate and Water Roundtable was held at the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea in Seoul. This historic event marked the first step for Asian parliamentarians to discuss in-depth solutions to climate and water challenges through policy research and international cooperation sessions.
In July 2025, the 2nd Climate and Water Roundtable took place in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. This roundtable featured more advanced international cooperation and policy research sessions, and forthe first time, hosted a technology exhibition by enterprises. This became a milestone in establishing a virtuous cycle of cooperation among parliaments, governments, public institutions, and the private sector. Furthermore, AAWC concluded memorandum of understanding (MOUs) with the Asia Water Council (AWC), international organizations such as the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), and various public institutions in the climate and water sector, thereby strengthening the foundation of cooperation. The “Bishkek Declaration” firmly expressed the international community’s shared commitment to climate action.
As the only parliamentary diplomacy platform in Asia dedicated to climate and waterissues, AAWC is committed to playing a more active role in addressing the climate crisis and resolving water-related challenges.
By reinforcing inter-parliamentary cooperation among AAWC member states, and by expanding solidarity with the AWC, international organizations, public institutions, and private enterprises, we will work togetherto overcome Asia’s pressing water challenges.
Your continued interest and support are the greatest driving force of AAWC.
I sincerely look forward to building a sustainable future for Asia
together with you.
